ABOUT THE ARTIST The acrylic paintings of Shaun Kinley
possess brilliant colors in varying strokes and textures to form
expressive images that are realistic, yet far from literal.
The energy and intensity displayed in his work illuminate the
subjects of his material, which include sporting events, athletes,
portraits and cityscapes.
Kinley’s interest in art was inspired
in childhood by the work of sports artist LeRoy Nieman.
Early promise of Shaun’s talent was revealed in his strikingly
realistic pencil and ink drawings in school art classes.
His artwork progressed into acrylic medium, allowing his
technique to capture a bolder, more distinctive style. While initially pursuing other studies in college, he focused his talents in other areas: varsity athletics at The Ohio State University, sales and marketing, framing, landscaping business, Bible College and pastoral ministry, and education, giving him a truly unique background and range of experiences to draw from. Currently, he is actively pursuing his painting and his Master's degree in art. He also teaches two-dimensional art and coaches wrestling at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Kinley’s work has been commissioned by
The United States White House Gallery, Children’s Miracle Network
& Carolina Healthcare System, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving,
among others. The Fox 8 News
Channel affiliate has repeatedly spotlighted the artist and his
paintings, including the September 11th one-year memorial
which featured his “New York Evening” cityscape. The enthusiasm and heart of Shaun Kinley is reflected in his paintings, and is refined by his masterful skill to create pieces that appeal to larger audiences. His work is displayed nationwide in restaurants, businesses, galleries and by private collectors who identify with and love the familiar images. Shaun was commissioned by Crossing the
Line Inc. to paint official images for several national marathon posters. |
